February 25, The Porterhouse Covent Garden, London.The IP Party 2020, hosted by Steder Group Maritime Services in The Porter House in London was once again a great success. Close to 200 clients, relations, suppliers and colleagues in the Maritime business visited our party. he 18th annual membership conference of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC), attended by close 100 participants from all over the globe, was a great success.Rob de Korte, Managing Director of Steder Group (in the tulips suit on the picture below), accepted the challenge to act as auctioneer for a benefit auction in support of the Princess Maxima Center for pediatric oncology in Utrecht. Children with cancer can be treated in this unique clinic and research center. The attendees of the conference gathered USD 32.200,- for this nobel cause for items, given by the event sponsors and members. In addition individual cash donations rounded up the final result.As host this year we would like to say thank you to all sponsors, attending members and invited guests to this year’s event.

A 7000 kilometers ride for charity

Coming Saturday the team of Frans Vermeijden (former director of Steder Group), together with eleven other Rotary Challenge teams, will start a 7000-kilometer long journey from Zwijndrecht in The Netherlands to Gambia.This “special aid convoy” will be loaded to the maximum with clothes, school equipment and medical supplies. Once their “cargo” has been delivered, the cars are to be sold at an auctionand the proceeds will be donated to the ‘Schoolplan Gambia” foundation. This foundation builds and maintains schools and supports students and schoolteachers in Gambia. The foundation also supports talented, but underprivileged, girls by enabling them to get an education which today they cannot afford.Steder Group wholeheartedly supports this great initiative, both financially and emotionally, and wishes Frans and the other participants of the Rotary Challenge the best of luck and a safe journey!

Steder Group Djibouti recently moved two ball valves for Genale Dawe Hydro Power Project from the port of Djibouti to the project site in Ethiopia.Delivery was done inside the dam through tunnels, which was a challenge but thanks to meticulous planning and Steder Group boots on the ground, this hurdle was taken without incidents.Each ball valve had a weight of 130 metric tons. Distance travelled was approx. 1450 km, items were safely delivered as scheduled.
