Kazakhstan, Kirgiztan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan: former Soviet Republics forming the geographic area of Central Asia and where in the Middle Ages caravans travelled along the Silk route to and from China. Now this Silk route is taken over by the Iron route and the cities of these republics are reached via Baltic or Black Sea Ports.
